KidzFlip is a local not-for-profit Macedon Ranges organisation that strives to empower young people to reach their full potential through connection, fun and achievement.
We believe that a strong, respectful link between school, home and the community is important on the way to becoming a good global citizen.
Our programs are designed to help young people who are experiencing any number of difficulties at school and at home.
We know that exercise, healthy eating and connectedness lead to good mental health outcomes and that this can be achieved in a fun, non judgemental and respectful environment.
Our major program is the Energy Breakthrough Challenge, which will undertake some changes due to current restrictions. KidzFlip participants will have the opportunity to train in and race carts as part of a team. We are looking at extending this program to involve other creative pursuits such as photography and digital media initiatives.
KidzFlip also has a great relationship with the Gisborne Men’s Shed and provide mentoring opportunities through this connection.
To be a part of KidzFlip there are certain requirements and commitments we expect from our young participants:
- * Commitment to training program; (no experience needed)
- * To be encouraging, thoughtful and respectful to their peers and mentors;
- * To volunteer their time to community events (such as sausage sizzles) as deemed appropriate by the committee. These events will either be to raise funds for the Breakthrough Challenge or to volunteer time to help other local organisations as part of giving back to our community.
The feedback we have received from past and current participants from local schools is that a certain camaraderie is established between the group. The KidzFlip team feel a sense of belonging and this extends to their school life where they look out for each other and provide a friendly face in the school yard.
We have students from many of the schools in the Macedon Ranges that have been involved and are more than happy to share their experiences with families and schools.
If you have a young person in mind who would like to join KidzFlip, or if you would like to become a school partner, please connect with us via the Contact Us page.
What parents say…
My daughter found school very overwhelming and was often anxiety stricken at the thought of having to go everyday. KidzFlip gave her something to look forward to away from the school environment and she made some great friends who encouraged her to be herself. She also built a great rapport with the adult mentors which gave her a lot of confidence.
Not being a sporty kid, she enjoyed karate and the gym program as well as the opportunity of being able to train and race in the carts. Her experience is something she will never forget.
